They are just outside my
window, shaking in this most
cold November night. Inside
it doesn't seem all that much
warmer. I need you, that would
be the only way I could feel
the fire that my heart wants
me to wrap around myself.
It would be so overwhelming,
so much, to lose myself
in your arms this night. To
capture you and not let you
go when the alarms would ring,
to never let you go until
we must or else we'd starve.
Even then it could only be so
that I could return to you
the next night.
Tonight though, I must spend
alone with my dreams. My
thoughts of you must drift
me into night. When into
deep slumber I slip, my
soul, so urgent, will go
to you. You'll feel your
eyes flicker as I slip next
to you, as I wrap myself
around you, as my soul
enraptures you.
The wind settles and those
trees calm. Still I reach
to you, and always my
heart, my deep dreams,
my forever passion, will
reach when you are not
near. With love of and
for you I drift into
that slumber, caring
and wanting to hold
you forever.

That Window
The wind blows glimpses of
the coming Fall, breathes
them in through the shower
window. Oh, how the leaves
will change and overtake me.
It is my emotion, it is me,
the Fall, the seasons turning,
and the sleeping come Winter.
Silent in my heart as I
imagine the cold doorsteps
coming. The snow footprints
leading into my home, into
where I slumber. Chilled
just enough to warm by a fire
or under a blanket of wonder.
I'll remember back to now,
I'll remmeber while I lay
dormant and waiting. That
window will be closed soon
and the Summer gone. I feel
it when I take air into my
lungs, when I shiver in this
warm shower.
This morning, the sunrise
was more beautful than ever.
It stole my heart from every
emotion, it took me. Perhaps,
with the lateness of the season
it held more sway. Perhaps, the
chilled air through that window
was what stole me away. My heart,
so drawn out, so full, exhales
in such beautiful artistry.

Missing you
That first look
when we knew. Those
nights we knew, but
didn't speak. Our
hearts, they tremble
still. Missing
you close this
night. Needing
you close this
night. My heart
has gone to be
with you - our love
has embraced this
night. Holding
you, loving you,
has given me
forever.

Come Away, Little Bird
He's so tiny and he tilts his
head to look at me curiously.
This bird that came and landed
outside of my window.
"Why do you cry," he asks, but
I have no response.
"The sky, the river, it hasn't
changed. Only the way in which
you see it."
And then he flies away, flies to
wherever he wishes - wherever
he can.
The wind comes and dries the
tears on my cheek - the wind
that carried him away.
With a deep, drawn out
inhalation, I feel my heart
still, my muscles release.
I let go and fly away.
As if I was one of them, as
if I remembered who I've
always been.

Raining on us
Here we run
through rain,
drowning our fears
and capturing ourselves
without knowing the
reasons for which
we love with
so much
passion.
It was enough
that we do.
You told me
with nothing
but a simple
look and I
knew forever.
It was near to
morning when
we touched,
when you asked
me to hold
you.
It's then that
the whispered
words of love
stole us from
this world.
With rain, and
days, and sunshine
shining tomorrow -
it's then that we
became lost.
In everything, in
us, forever.

Those Trees
We quiet down
when we lay
in the
brambles.
The sky is
a parchment, so
wildly written
it shines
to our eyes.
From here, we
stare up at
it through
the blackberry
stems.
Beneath these
thorns we hide
and hold hands
like children.
Time forgets
itself while
this life has
us.

In the Center of the Storm
(I)
The sweet voice
breathes close, taking
time. It comes over me -
It comes so much closer.
A torrent wind catches my
skin and tumbles me,
it seeds itself into
deep recesses in my
outstretched lungs.
Sparks of memories
with which dreams
burn brightest thump
exhalation. Across
my face I feel my
taught skin draw
into a smile. This
day bleeds the vigor,
it beckons the sailor
home, and it halts life's
traffic. This day has
captured me.
(II)
It came so quickly - the
rain. Caught unaware, it
overwhelms. Tremendous
in it's display and so
raw. Thick, dark clouds
hover menacingly close
to the tops of wind
soured trees. Torrential
falling rains splay old
pine branches wide. Fierce
wind tugs their roots in
stolen violence. Empty of
anything but fury it
rages. It demonstrates. It
claims dominance with
light and sound. In
it I am lost. There
is nothing but it's
disregard.
(III)
And then, it is gone.
Everything has changed.
The ground is soaked
from it's passing and
everything is quiet now.
My voice would be ominous
in these woods. The
daylight has gone gray
and lays upon the ground
in long strides. It's
so warm when it touches
me. My well trodden
heart lurches in
echo. With
small weak
steps I
overcome.
The light,
so gentle,
persists.
(IV)
Above me
is the
moon - watching
and
so full.
Oh, so numb
and captured,
it was, it
had to be
taken from
our dreams - our
ever sleeping
heart dreams.
There will
always be
those
moments,
but when
the
storm
subsides, it
once again,
becomes
clear.
The sweet voice

if it rains
In
early morning the time overcomes
me. The hour is so stark.
Perhaps, it's the unusually cold
May weather. It stirs me restless
while you slumber still.
I've raised the thermostat to warm
your dreams. The furnace fires to
breaks my trance.
But none of these things let me
know. And none of these things
let me in. They just are.
When I get older I'll see the morning
come before it is there. I won't
worry anymore about the weather.
There was something that we wanted
to remember. It's probably why I
can't sleep.
There is so much that needs to be
done, but I think that it is supposed
to rain come morning.

Until we run undone
My monsters come,
they run, to me.
They come, regardless
of me.
In those dreams, of
which I've spoken,
you can sense them
running.
Bright does it come,
the camera that
flashes, leaving
the afterimage.
In the darkness
that's left, my
mother holds onto
me, always.
You talk. The words
come from you, but
not in you. We're
dancing.
Our emotions lay
aside while the
season changes,
while our hearts
yearn.
Along these lines
we think - we worry
about things never
before apparent.
In subtle colors
we draw ourselves
exposed, until we
run undone.
In that end, and
only then, we
know each other -
flawed with love.

The moon has us
Stolen like fevered
dreams, waking our mortal
hearts. Gasping air
in gulps as though
we've never known
how. Gazing upon
our sleeping souls
it listens. This
late night is walking
on still winds to
speak with me. It
has words of which
it wants me to hear.
My dreams come in
collisions. My heart
wakes me. So filled,
so saturated. Crawling
deep ageless wisdom is
shining. Within your
forever embrace of
light reflecting, my
eyes can see.

Overwhelmed
You are the rousing,
rapturous vixen. In
nights covered with
our embrace. Sweet
lusted honey rain coats
us, covers us. Mad
vigorous chords echo
consuming intoxication.
Forever us has incited
revolts to scream out
uncovered emotion. Now
pressed, deeply withdrawn,
hearts ring bells. They
resound, they speak unheard
muffled cries. It's
confusion.
To look upon you, and see
you - everything. Smaller
cities embrace us without
concern. Sunrise crawls
across us through some
unknown window. It's
us, our emotions speak
of it.
Across your skin so gently
my eyes thirst to admire,
my fingers must trace love,
I must adore your succulent
flesh - my need for you
excesses into ecstasy.
Ever for tomorrow our
esoteric emotions breathe
into passionate life adrift
on rivers of threads wrapped
into our love. The gossamer,
so fine, beads the water and
catches our delicate souls.

Vinyl Tiger
We're intense when we
look into some sky that
is off somewhere, someplace,
that's placed in dreams left
like records waiting for
us to return.
The elegant touch of needle
to vinyl grabs. It makes
your eyes roll with clouds
of some tomorrow lover's
sunrise.
Do you hear it? The music
of life ringing in our ears.
The sinuous vibrato of the
sun painting our faces with
long lines of shadow.
There are pictures outside
that need to be taken. You
have kept the tigers away
long enough - you have given
away more than you should.
Life bleeds. It will, and
always has. Past love is born
and of us forever. It is every
piece of us, every thread, but
it isn't our forever tomorrow.
When the clouds roll by,
they drift through our
eyes. I see you like
never before - old, young,
in love, with life worth
loving. I see you.
