Spin clouds while trees turn their leaves underside
Don't wait to bear this obscene burden without sunshine
Your busy mind is occupied by the wordless chorus
Our mouths lie unspoken truths to each other
Staring deeply his eyes caress your naked shoulder
Lips unable to talk, cold air trembling with alcohol
Never dreams unfolding before we can reason
Tomorrow never comes and today never came to be
The ocher sunset fades with lasting haste
Subtle is the light over us before it is gone
Another place, just words in a song
Your smile, so precious
Just words in a song

Dream Clouds
There are no dream clouds in the sky today
Just a blank faded blue sky staring back at me
Yesterday I drove underneath them smiling
So easily lost in their looming shadows
They marched like wild water buffaloes
Grazing on sunshine across the stark blue
Today they've moved on to another pasture
Burdened am I by their loss, but silent
Still they march and still they carry on
The stampeding herd welcomes all souls
The tokens they carry match those that I hold
No matter how far they run they'll never grow old
My heart holds them closely forever I'm told
Those dream clouds held so close to my soul
Just a blank faded blue sky staring back at me
Yesterday I drove underneath them smiling
So easily lost in their looming shadows
They marched like wild water buffaloes
Grazing on sunshine across the stark blue
Today they've moved on to another pasture
Burdened am I by their loss, but silent
Still they march and still they carry on
The stampeding herd welcomes all souls
The tokens they carry match those that I hold
No matter how far they run they'll never grow old
My heart holds them closely forever I'm told
Those dream clouds held so close to my soul

Drifting Aware
The water bugs play
A lake so calm after last nights storm
Rain lightly falls amidst the sunshine
Wading deeper and farther, still calm lake
Plunging my head, covering my ears
Diving deep, surfacing back float
Dark to light, eyes skyward
Water plugs my ears
No sounds aside the pink tissue taking air
It comes and goes, it is all I can hear
Eyes neither open nor closed
Afloat with light falling upon me
Simple rain numbing my face
Awareness comes to me
It takes less and less effort to stay afloat
Without looking, carelessly spinning
Eyelids go from light to dark
Open and closed, morning clouds, inner self
Stark blue sky so crisp and apparent
Morning fog burns and leaves
Gracefully afloat, calm smooth lake
Wind crested waves from days past have escaped
Only this lake remains
Drifting, with only myself
Delicate threads unwind
Ears break water, day sounds life
Everything floods into my again whole self
This has come to calm my soul
My mind has taken ease upon the current
I am drifting aware
Minding my soul
A lake so calm after last nights storm
Rain lightly falls amidst the sunshine
Wading deeper and farther, still calm lake
Plunging my head, covering my ears
Diving deep, surfacing back float
Dark to light, eyes skyward
Water plugs my ears

Noise Trade Markets
etched mind vinyl spinning
same curved lines tripped
crackling over and over
same kind of sound
born inside of me tonight
the noise trade market
tumbling princess stocks
can't take face value anymore
misspoken words oft repeat
pressed records gone gold
left untaken from goodwill
stacks just gather dust
I wasted time before listening
throw them out once again
these can't be resold
no one wants them anymore

Weather with You or Not
Don't pretend to know where
hair so messed it is tragic
we're daunted by your opinion
trying so hard to understand
I've watched you before
dancing on a stage unapparent
reach out and grab these things
which you've been holding onto
Clocks stop workers today
light will always be there
blinding us come morning
curtains bring us together
Such is the night rain
that it comes down onto us
like tokens left at stations
tickets to somewhere else
Maybe to you it isn't new
but my eyes grow so wide
to a conductor watching me ride
he sees me and my foolish attempts
Wake me at the next station
you, the stranger, next to me
sitting unaware of what comes tomorrow
weather predictions often bring rain
if we wait, the sun may shine
hair so messed it is tragic
we're daunted by your opinion
trying so hard to understand
I've watched you before
dancing on a stage unapparent
reach out and grab these things
which you've been holding onto
Clocks stop workers today
